Job Summary
Controller for a specialty construction services contractor overseeing financial operations in the Midwest/South Central U.S. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records and monthly statements, processing payroll/AP/AR with the accounting team, improving integrations between accounting, payroll, and billing platforms, collaborating with project managers on financial progress and forecasts, and enhancing financial policies and procedures. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent), strong accounting, budgeting, and tax/compliance skills, excellent communication and collaboration, and proficiency with Excel and Acumatica a plus. Salary range $120,000–$150,000/year plus incentives; in-office Monday–Friday. Benefits include 401(k), health/dental/vision/life, and PTO.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with tax compliance, payroll processing, and accounts payable/receivable
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience in the construction industry highly desirable
- Experience with Acumatica accounting software a plus
