Controller/Accounting Manager

Lead full month-end close across multiple entities; prepare GAAP-compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; maintain the general ledger with journal entries and reconciliations; oversee A/P and Payroll functions and supervise related teams; manage fixed assets, intercompany transactions, 1099 preparation, and IRS compliance; coordinate external audits and audit schedules; drive budgeting and financial strategy, including budget-to-actual analysis and presentations to committees and leadership; uphold policies and internal controls; participate in governance, Form 990 preparation for foundations, and financial advisory roles for boards; requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 7+ years of accounting/finance experience with 3–5 years of leadership; nonprofit or church accounting experience is highly preferred; proficiency in Advanced Excel and familiarity with Sage Intacct, Paylocity, Procare, or The Rock is a plus; strong attention to detail, strategic thinking, and effective communication are key traits; faith-aligned with the mission of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
