Controller - Accounting - Construction Trades Services

Job Summary

Lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and budgeting for a multi-location construction business. Maintain accurate records, internal controls, and systems while preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage the annual budgeting process, analyze variances, and develop dashboards to support management decision-making. Oversee technology infrastructure for field and office teams, troubleshooting communication tools and ensuring reliable workflows. Coordinate external audit and tax reporting, enforce compliance policies, and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Handle confidential financial information with strict judgment. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including meaningful responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting operations
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, tax requirements, and business reporting
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and analyzing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
  • Experience improving accounting processes, controls, systems, and reporting workflows
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including advanced Excel capabilities
  • Working knowledge of accounting, payroll, and operational systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, UKG, and Salesforce
  • Clear written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to operational and executive audiences
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong judgment, discretion, and follow-through
  • A commitment to responsive, professional service for internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and leadership
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Easton, MA ¡ On-site

Desired Qualifications

  • Controller, Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, or Finance Manager background in a multi-location, field-service, transportation, manufacturing, construction, or operationally intensive environment
  • Experience supporting decentralized teams with both financial systems and field technology needs
  • Comfortable moving between strategic analysis and hands-on execution when deadlines require it
