Job Summary
Part-time Controller/Accountant overseeing controller-level services across client projects. Responsibilities include cash flow tracking, financial reporting, closing of books, reviewing and reconciling records, recommending improvements to accounting procedures and systems, evaluating and implementing accounting software tools, and preparing management reports with actionable financial insights. Requires BA in accounting or related field, 10+ years of accounting experience, 2+ years of supervisory or project-lead experience; MBA or CPA preferred. In Kalamazoo, Michigan, in-person work.
Required Qualifications
- BA in accounting, business administration, business management, or other related field
- 10+ years accounting experience
- 2+ years supervisory or project lead experience
- CPA preferred
- MBA preferred (optional)
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with financial statement preparation and management reporting
- Experience with cash flow tracking and financial reporting
- Book closure and oversight of accounting processes
