Job Summary
The Control Valve Technician I role involves following Quality Standardization Procedures for valve repair and learning valve repair processes per company standards. Responsibilities include recognizing contaminated valves using Safety Data Sheets (SDS), identifying missing parts, and gaining knowledge of shop equipment such as test stands and tools. Successful candidates will demonstrate mechanical skills, safety awareness, and effective communication. Essential physical functions include lifting and moving objects, operating machinery, and passing medical evaluations and fit tests.
Required Qualifications
- HS Education or GED Equivalent
- Previous control valve experience
- Safety and quality-minded
- Recognize control valve components
- Basic computer knowledge
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Demonstrate effective time management skills
- Demonstrated proficiency of disassembly, lapping, testing, applicable codes and standards
- Basic oral & written communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers
- Demonstrated understanding of the field job process
- Close Supervision Required
- Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelines
- Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening
- Essential physical abilities as defined
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion of Masoneilan Valve University Levels 101-103 (SIS only)
- Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization Procedures
- Completed CV Level I training course certification
- Successful completion of Control Valve Level I Written and Performance Tests
- Demonstrated mechanical skills
- Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)
