Job Summary
Control Validation and Security Specialist responsible for performing vulnerability and risk analyses across the system development life cycle, developing and maintaining A&A documentation, coordinating RMF activities, conducting independent security control assessments (interviews, examinations, testing), and preparing assessment findings reports. Will work with system owners to resolve findings, provide cybersecurity review and validation for authorization deliverables, support RMF processes, participate in required meetings, and manage POA&M activities. In addition to assessing cloud deployments, the role requires strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills to present status to customers and program leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- DoDD 8140.01 / 8570.01-M IAM Level III Certification
- Security Clearance: Secret
- 5 or more years of experience with certification and accreditation (C&A) or A&A in Cybersecurity/Information Security/IT/EE/Network Engineering/Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Demonstrated knowledge as an Information Assurance (IA) Specialist concerning C&A/A&A activities and IA policies/procedures on DoD systems
- Experience with A&A on hardware and software operating in geographically dispersed locations; hands-on with cybersecurity tools
- Hands-on experience with DoD networks
- Experience in FISMA and information assurance compliance reporting
- Ability to work in a matrix organization and communicate across all levels
- Experience using RMF to support the A&A process (policies, procedures, plans, security controls design/implementation, testing, tracking corrective actions)
