Control Systems Specialist III

Job Summary
Develop new control systems, modify existing ones, and oversee hardware design for PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications across industrial, process, and food/beverage sectors. Conduct conceptual system design, generate functional specifications, and manage detailed electrical control system hardware design including AutoCad prints and bill-of-materials. Lead system start-ups in the panel shop and field while performing internal project management, peer software reviews, and schedule oversight. Assess existing systems for obsolescence plans and collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet customer requirements through client design reviews. Mentor engineers on technologies and vendors while maintaining availability for 15-40% travel.
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
- 5-10 years of experience in Controls Systems Design
- Seek out and give peer/mentor feedback on system design, software development, and team interactions
- Avaliability to travel 15-40% depending on project type, size, and location
- Competent in MSExcel

- Exposure to MSWord, OneNote
- Mechanical aptitude for industrial machinery
- Experience with some or all of the following topics/vendors and their related software packages (as engineers develop more skills, this will be taken into account when advancement is under review); SCADA: IFix, Ignition, Labview, RSView, Wonderware
- Experience with some or all of the following topics/vendors and their related software packages (as engineers develop more skills, this will be taken into account when advancement is under review); HMI: Panelmate, RSView, Magelus
- Experience with some or all of the following topics/vendors and their related software packages (as engineers develop more skills, this will be taken into account when advancement is under review); Drives: ABB, Reliance, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Siemens
- Experience with some or all of the following topics/vendors and their related software packages (as engineers develop more skills, this will be taken into account when advancement is under review); Motion: Beckhoff, Kollmorgen, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Siemens
- Experience with some or all of the following topics/vendors and their related software packages (as engineers develop more skills, this will be taken into account when advancement is under review); PLC: Beckhoff, Omron, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Siemens
- Experience with some or all of the following topics/vendors and their related software packages (as engineers develop more skills, this will be taken into account when advancement is under review); Networking: N-Tron, Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Siemens
- Experience with some or all of the following topics/vendors and their related software packages (as engineers develop more skills, this will be taken into account when advancement is under review); Reporting: Crystal Reports, Transaction Manager, Vantage Point
