Job Summary
Control Systems Engineer provides control-system focused support to keep customer’s automated warehouse stable and running. The role monitors and troubleshoots PLC-controlled Storage, Conveyor and Sorter equipment, triages incidents, restores service via structured troubleshooting and approved actions, and coordinates resolution by guiding on-site resources and escalating to the Service Desk and other SMEs. Responsibilities include monitoring PLC-controlled automation to minimize downtime, diagnosing faults across PLC logic, HMIs, sensors/ actuators, drives/VFDs and industrial networks, coordinating with on-site maintenance and remote teams, providing system-status updates, maintaining technical documentation, and contributing to trend analysis and continuous improvement. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field, 3+ years in intralogistics automation, Siemens & Beckhoff PLC knowledge, ability to diagnose faults across PLCs/HMI/sensors/drives/networks, ITIL-style incident and problem-management familiarity, change-control discipline, and the ability to work independently in a shift-based environment; travel up to 30% and work authorization in the U.S.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics, controls engineering, or related technical field
- 3+ years of experience supporting intralogistics automation, including storage systems and conveyor equipment
- Strong Siemens & Beckhoff PLC knowledge (troubleshooting, online diagnostics, reading/modifying code)
- Ability to diagnose faults across PLCs, HMIs, sensors/actuators, drives/VFDs, and industrial networks (PROFINET)
- Excellent incident communication, documentation, and cross-team coordination
- Disciplined change-control practices: backups, approvals, testing, documentation, version control
- Ability to work independently in a shift-based environment
- Travel readiness for 30% of time
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
