Job Summary
Control Systems Engineer at Alcon responsible for hands-on design, development, programming, installation, modification, troubleshooting, validation, and optimization of campus-wide control system software/hardware supporting office, research, manufacturing and remote warehouse operations. Work with PLC/PAC controllers, Ignition Perspective Graphics and Reports, and validation protocols (IQ/OQ) to ensure data integrity, compliance, and high system availability. Manage contracts and small projects, coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors, maintain thorough system documentation in line with cGMP/FDA/GxP, and support Windows/Linux administration for automation platforms. Role emphasizes regulated environments, cybersecurity, and continuous improvement across the site within an onsite Fort Worth campus. WHAT YOU’LL BRING: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 2 years of relevant experience; proficiency with industrial automation, Ignition, SQL, Rockwell Studio 5000, and related engineering tools; ability to adhere to regulatory standards and support validation and project efforts across manufacturing and research environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
- Experience supporting control systems in a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical or medical device)
- Programming and troubleshooting PLC/PAC controllers and automation hardware/software
- Experience with Ignition (Inductive Automation) and SQL
- Knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and GxP requirements
- Strong documentation, IQ/OQ validation, and commissioning experience
- Windows and Linux system administration
- Vendor coordination and project management experience
- Ability to read/write English fluently
