Job Summary

Develop and maintain Safety Cases for Electronic Engine Control and Monitoring Systems to ensure single fault tolerance and meet certification requirements. Collaborate with teams and customers to create work products including System Safety Assessments, Functional Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis. Provide technical guidance to a small team, mentor junior engineers on processes and tools, and prepare engineering documentation for quality review. Resolve complex problems using systems engineering and model-centric development approaches while communicating technical ideas clearly. Support full life cycle development with a global engineering community.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 1+ years of product development engineering experience
  • Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • PhD in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering
  • U.S. Citizen
  • 4+ years of product safety engineering experience
  • Experience with requirements management
  • Application of agile development methods to deliver engineering work products
  • Experience with military qualification and/or FAA certification of airborne systems
  • Familiarity with the one or more of the following standards: ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-1629, DO-178C, DO-254, AMCOM 385 and IEE 1633-2016
  • Gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience
  • Demonstrated experience with control system design and one or more of the following tools: Fault Tree+, Reliability Workbench, DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Knowledge of systems engineering, and robust design tools and techniques coupled with the latest model-centric development approaches
