Job Summary
CONTROL SYSTEM DESIGNER opportunities at multiple levels in Houston, TX and Greenville, SC. Duties include developing 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD, interpreting engineering directions to create design layouts, modifying existing drawings, and producing design deliverables. Senior/Principal roles involve leading design activities, reviewing others' work, supporting development of estimates and schedules, and mentoring junior designers. Responsibilities also include field walkdowns to verify as-built conditions, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with project requirements. Requires strong CAD experience, ability to interpret instructions, and familiarity with codes and standards; nuclear/DOE project environments and DOE security clearance readiness are preferred. Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in a related technical field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Senior/Principal level experience (Senior Design Specialist: typically 10+ years; Senior Designer: typically 10+ years; Principal Designer: typically 15+ years)
- Strong experience with CAD tools
- Experience developing engineering design drawings and 3D models
- Ability to interpret engineering instructions and create accurate design deliverables
- Experience performing field walkdowns and incorporating field data into designs
- Background in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Civil, Architectural or related engineering fields
- Working knowledge of Federal, state, and local codes and standards
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- US Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance if required
- Experience with 3D modeling tools (e.g., S3D or similar platforms) (preferred)
- Experience supporting engineering and construction projects (preferred)
- Familiarity with nuclear or DOE project environments (preferred)
