Control Room Technician (NIGHTS)

Job Summary

Operate and monitor multiple plant facilities and site support systems from a centralized control center, prioritizing and communicating on system alarms, warnings, and abnormal trends. Review, investigate, and document operational anomalies for cause and clearance while assisting engineers with troubleshooting, optimization, and testing. Support the installation, commissioning, and qualification of site support systems, including BMS, PCS, and life safety controls, alongside maintenance activities for shutdowns, startups, and LOTO. Adhere to all quality, environmental, and safety regulations while driving continuous process improvement using cLEAN® concepts. Work 12-hour shifts in a manufacturing environment requiring physical stamina and the ability to work in cold conditions or confined spaces.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in a technical field from an accredited university
  • High School Diploma (GED) with four (4) years in facilities, utilities, or manufacturing automated systems control & operations
  • Minimum of two (2) years in facilities, utilities, or manufacturing automated systems control & operations
  • Minimum of five (5) years facilities/utilities experience in a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge and experience in the operations, maintenance & design of cGMP utilities as well as working in a regulated environment (FDA, cGMP, OSHA)
  • Proficiency in most of the following utility systems: chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, vacuum, wastewater, HVAC, vacuum, water purification, nitrogen storage/distribution & clean steam
  • Prior qualification/work experience required in operating plant or facilities via control systems

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with a basic understanding of P&ID, PFD, HVAC, electrical systems & equipment schematics
  • Understanding of technical documents such as URS, SAT, FAT, commissioning & validation protocols
  • Understanding of complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to high-level concepts
  • Computer literacy with associated systems
  • Ability to prioritize equipment & system issues based on environmental or safety risk, production impact & operational need
  • Strong communication skills across multiple organizational levels
