Job Summary
Monitor and operate automated production equipment through computerized control systems to ensure continuous, efficient manufacturing operations. Program and adjust production lines to maintain efficient workflow, verify settings based on product specifications, and coordinate with loader operators to replenish materials and prevent downtime. Respond promptly to system alarms and equipment malfunctions by communicating concerns to maintenance and supervisory personnel while performing routine system checks and documenting production data. Assist with production changeovers, startup, and shutdown procedures, and maintain accurate production records while adhering to all safety procedures and environmental regulations. This safety-sensitive role supports Sun Gro Horticulture's leading position in soilless growing mixes by overseeing production line programming and monitoring material flow.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to safely perform lifting up to 70 lbs on a routine basis
- Comfortable with standing, walking, and operating equipment for extended periods
- Ability to safely operate equipment in varying weather and yard conditions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and dependable work ethic
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
