Job Summary
Monitor the status of all plant systems continuously and respond to alarms by executing corrective actions, plant shut-down, and start-up procedures. Operate station systems including steam generation, turbine/generator, and air pollution control equipment while adjusting temperatures, pressures, and flows for optimization. Train other operators on facility principles, interpret meters and gauges, and conduct periodic safety surveillance tests. Maintain logs, identify equipment malfunctions, and report abnormal conditions to the supervisor. Work night shifts, weekends, and holidays with overtime as needed, performing manual labor in confined spaces and extreme conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts Second Class Engineer's License or higher
- Associates Degree or equivalent technical training in power plant operations
- Basic computer skills
- Oral and written communications skills
- Problem solving and decision making ability
- Ability to read Blueprints
- Ability to read P&IDs
- Ability to understand schematic specifications
- Ability to understand vendor technical manuals
- Strong leadership and motivational skills
- Ability to stay alert while sitting for long periods of time
- Ability to work in all locations within the plant
- Ability to work in tight quarters
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work under extremes of hot and cold
- Ability to work in areas of dust, noise and wet conditions
- Ability to work in heights
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform manual labor including pushing, pulling, sweeping and shoveling
- Ability to work overtime as needed including nights, weekends, and holidays with minimum notice
- Clean shaven appearance (shaved the day of work)
- Mustaches that do not extend beyond the jawbone and do not interfere with respirators sealing points
- No full beards, goatees or bushy side burns
- Legal authorization to work in the country where the job is located
- No requirement for sponsorship assistance from Reworld
- Possession or ability to quickly obtain MA 1C/2C Hoisting License
