Job Summary
As a Control Room Operator, you will monitor and operate a multi-channel trunked radio system, oversee venue CCTV, respond to emergency reports, manage dispatch functions, and document incidents. Essential skills include effective communication, teamwork, and decision-making. A positive attitude and the ability to work evenings and weekends are required. Practical dispatch experience is crucial, with a preference for candidates holding a valid Ontario Security License.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year practical dispatch experience or a combination of education and experience
- Comfortable with MS Office programs
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships
- Ability to actively listen and communicate effectively
- General knowledge of radio etiquette and procedures
- Strong decision-making skills
- Ability to take direction while also displaying strong personal initiative
- Ability to work well within a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of TURBONet dispatch software is desirable
- Customer service experience
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments
