Job Summary
Monitor plant systems from the control room, respond to alarms with corrective actions to meet generating requirements while operating safely and efficiently. Manage chip and fuel feed systems, furnace, dryer, primary and secondary sizing, and pellet presses; act as overall contact for plant operations. Monitor indicator screens and signals, manage levels and feeds to sustain continuous operation; translate signals into production realities, adjust production line processes, operate computers and HMIs, and maintain schedules, temperatures, and safety standards. Resolve issues based on criticality of malfunctions using technical skills; communicate with team and respond to assistance calls; perform multi-tasking with alarms and radio communications. Strong math aptitude for flow/pressure/meter calculations; ability to work independently and in a team. Knowledge of generating unit operation, engineering, or maintenance practices.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and written procedures.
- Be able to use basic hand tools.
- Must possess basic computer & math skills.
- Able to learn how to operate HMI touch screens.
