Job Summary
Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down GE 7HA.02 combustion turbines, HRSGs, steam turbine generators, and balance-of-plant systems from the control room and field while maintaining safe, reliable operation. Monitor plant performance using the Distributed Control System and PLCs to optimize efficiency and emissions compliance. Recognize abnormal conditions, respond to alarms and emergencies, troubleshoot equipment issues, and take corrective action including overriding automatic controls. Perform routine plant rounds, collect operating data, maintain accurate logs, and support shift turnovers. Support maintenance activities through equipment isolations, Lockout/Tagout, and system clearances. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and contractors to ensure facility safety and reliability. Follow a rotating 7 days on/7 days off schedule with night and day shifts, including weekends and holidays, with periodic callouts. Base pay ranges from $46 to $55.36 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Extensive experience operating combined-cycle power plants
- Experience with direct control room operations
- Experience with large-frame gas turbine generation
- Strong knowledge of combustion turbines
- Strong knowledge of HRSGs
- Strong knowledge of steam turbine generators
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems
- Strong knowledge of balance-of-plant equipment
- Thorough understanding of DCS operation
- Thorough understanding of Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Thorough understanding of plant operating practices
- Thorough understanding of emergency response
- Thorough understanding of safe work procedures
- Experience with water chemistry control
- Experience with water treatment systems
- Experience with chemical handling requirements
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot plant equipment
