Job Summary
Install, wire, and troubleshoot PLC panels and related equipment, including discrete and analog I/O wiring and VFDs up to 50 HP, adhering to UL 508A/NEC and NFPA 70E standards. Terminate, program-assist, and test systems while coordinating with plant maintenance to complete work within designated shutdown windows. Maintain tools and inventory, read electrical schematics and P&IDs, and document all tasks accurately. Travel to client sites throughout the United States for rolling project assignments, with flights, lodging, and per-diem covered. Work variable shifts Monday through Saturday, including weekends and overtime, to accommodate maintenance schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-4 years of hands-on experience installing, wiring, and troubleshooting industrial control panels and PLC systems
- Proficient understanding of PLC I/O wiring standards and electrical schematics
- Ability to read and mark up electrical statements P&IDs, and VFD parameter sheets
- Demonstrated success executing time-critical upgrades during scheduled shutdowns
- Valid Driver's license
- Willingness to drive to project sites throughout the United States
- Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs
- Must be capable of bending/kneeling in cramped cabinets, climb ladders, and work in hot or cold industrial environments
- Must be capable of comfortable standing and walking for 8–12-hour shifts
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, correspondences, and memos
- Ability to write correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Basic Proficiency with tablets/laptops for documentation, remote meetings, and time entry
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit number and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
- Ability to perform these operations using unity of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
- Ability to read a ruler to 1/16"
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Must be available for work Monday-Saturday from the hours of 6:30am-5pm
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for overtime
- Must be available for a variable schedule
- Must be available for work from 6:30am-5pm Monday-Thursday
- Must be available for work from 6:30am-3pm on Fridays
- Must be available for occasional Saturday work
- Must be capable of traveling up to 100% of the time
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or comparable PLC/VFD platforms a plus
