Job Summary
Lead LATAM Operations Control Management (OCM) for Argentina and Andean region (Chile, Colombia, Peru) as a VP-level role within JPMorgan Chase, shaping and maintaining a robust front-to-back control environment. Act as a first line of defence on operations risk, control, and audit matters; partner with Operations teams to assess incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive remediation of control issues. Conduct functional deep dives and risk assessments to identify and address control gaps, ensuring controls are designed, operating effectively, and aligned with proactive risk-and-control governance. Develop and publish standardized control metrics using analytics tools (Tableau, Qlik) to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement; drive remediation and risk mitigation programs. Manage governance and reporting of control initiatives through advanced analytics and visualization, and implement technology solutions (e.g., Alteryx, Xceptor) to automate controls and enhance data analysis. Coordinate internal and external audit engagements and regulatory reviews, including walkthroughs, evidence gathering, and remediation tracking. This role focuses on strengthening risk culture and operational excellence across Operations in LATAM.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial services industry with background in operations, controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance preferred; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation
- Experience in banking industry is a must
- Strong business analytics skills: ability to extract, analyze, and interpret large data sources using tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Alteryx, or similar platforms
- Proven ability to conduct functional deep dives and root cause analysis, with a track record of identifying and remediating control gaps
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders (VP/ED/MD level)
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills; able to build partnerships across Operations, Technology, Audit, and Compliance
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and process re-engineering skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- Effective time management and prioritization skills; able to deliver results in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
- Proactive/self-starter with a commitment to delivering value-added support to business partners
