Job Summary
Control Manager Vice President within our Personal Investing team, leading design and implementation of control frameworks for pensions products, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence. Drive risk assessments for pensions product development and change initiatives, monitor control effectiveness, provide guidance on risk management practices, contribute to CORE program, partner across business functions, and support risk governance through reporting and trainings. Leverage knowledge of FCA rules and pensions/ISA regulations to articulate risks, translate them into actionable control requirements, and coach junior team members while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver trusted wealth management solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in operational risk management within product management, controls, compliance, audit, or wealth management
- Proven ability to identify risks and develop effective control mechanisms for both existing business and new product initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Experience partnering with business and stakeholders to manage remediation of operational risk issues
- Good understanding of wealth management products, regulations, and associated risks
- Strong familiarity and prior experience working with personal / self-invested pensions products
- Strong knowledge of FCA requirements and regulatory expectations, including Pensions & ISA regulations, Suitability & Appropriateness, CASS, and Consumer Duty
- Ability to articulate key risks within business processes and translate these into risk and control heatmaps
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Experience using JIRA, Confluence, Alteryx, or CORE
- Fluency in another European language
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience leading small teams or coaching junior team members
