Control Engineer I

Job Summary
Control Engineer I responsible for frontline control and safety system technical support and engineering. Interfaces with offshore supervisors, maintenance coordinators, operations center personnel, planners, procurement, and contractors. Provides maintenance support, spare parts administration, and input on budgets; aims for incident-free operations. Performs site-based engineering duties for ICSS/Control & Safety systems, including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, vendor coordination, and ensuring compliance with HSE standards. Requires bachelor’s degree in Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of seven years’ experience in oil and gas; travel offshore and to vendor facilities; fluent English; familiarity with YOKOGAWA, Allen-Bradley, Siemens PCS7, and related automation technologies; and professional certifications such as TUV FsEng and/or GICSP are advantageous.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Control & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry or oil & gas automation engineering
- Strong knowledge of ICSS/Control & Instrumentation systems
- Proficiency with YOKOGAWA CENTUM VP DCS and related tools
- Experience with Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500/5000 and Siemens PCS7
- Knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, OPCDA, OPCUA, Profibus, Profinet)
- English fluency (written and oral)
- Willingness to travel offshore and to vendor facilities
