Control Engineer

Job Summary
Design and develop control systems by analyzing data to identify improvement areas and implementing solutions that enhance efficiency. Configure, standardize, and optimize control systems for equipment while acting as a liaison between end-users and OEMs. Provide technical support to team members and work with maintenance to remedy breakdowns. Manage projects from start to finish, supervising installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems. Develop business cases for automation upgrades to improve throughput and costs. Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards. Requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years in controls and automation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years working in the controls and automation industry
- HMI development
- AC and DC drive knowledge
- Expertise with EtherNet/IP, Industrial Ethernet and Profibus Networks (CAN)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in the steel automation industry
- Problem-solving
- Familiarity with engineering-related software
- Knowledge of lean principles
- Knowledge of PLC Programming
- Familiarity with Rockwell and Siemens controllers
- Familiarity with Aveva InTouch
- Knowledge of automated equipment systems, robotics, and material handling
