Job Summary
Control Engineer responsible for controls engineering project requirements including PLC programming, HMI/SCADA programming, control panel design, instrumentation specification, check-out support, and commissioning assistance. Responsibilities include project execution with task prioritization and scheduling, early problem identification and conflict resolution, direct/frequent communication with clients, ensuring regulatory/compliance alignment, technical writing of project definitions, requirements, status reporting, and customer correspondence, plus engineering design, development, and implementation of software (DCS/PLC, HMI) and support to lead engineer for hardware integration, systems design, and startup/commissioning activities. Preferred experience with Rockwell and Cimplicity; travel up to 25%; candidate should possess 3+ years in process control/manufacturing or information services; BS in engineering and applicable QA/documentation practices; strong communication and remote collaboration proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in engineering or related discipline (Electrical, Chemical, Controls or Computer Engineering degree preferred)
- 3+ years of directly related experience in process control and/or manufacturing and/or information services
- PLC, DCS, and/or SCADA/HMI design, development, and deployment experience
- Strong leadership and client relation skills
- Good engineering and good documentation practice
- Experience or willingness to use collaboration tools (such as SharePoint) to work effectively within remote teams
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 25%
