Job Summary
Lead and manage the Control Center within American Airlines’ Airports group, overseeing the movement of aircraft by AA employees, chairing daily shift briefings, and preparing station reports to ensure on-time performance. Responsible for identifying operational challenges, communicating plans, monitoring station arrival/departure dependability, resolving irregularities to ensure compliance with AA procedures, and guiding the team through emergency action plans. Requires mentoring and development of Control Center staff and coordinating with multiple departments and external agencies. Must be able to work rotating/flexible shifts and maintain adherence to attendance, performance, and workplace policies; FAA/SIDA access requirements may apply.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Business Management or Science in Aviation or equivalent experience/training
- 5+ years of leadership operational experience leading people or relevant experience
- Substantial experience in both RES and DECS
- Airport Control Center or Integrated Operation Center Experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and lead projects
- Leadership and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and flexible to various schedules
- FAA background checks to qualify for unescorted access (SIDA) if applicable
