Job Summary
Control Board Operator located in Independence, OH, with remote monitoring duties for air separation facilities and on-site field support for outages and maintenance. Responsible for remote process control, optimization, and system monitoring using DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC interfaces; execute engineer recommendations to adjust operating modes for energy and production efficiency; manage short-term supply and inventory in collaboration with logistics; respond to plant upsets with established emergency protocols; provide advanced troubleshooting for mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical devices; liaise with engineering for long-term performance improvements; maintain rigorous documentation of operational incidents and plant readings; perform on-site coverage for startups and training; ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, DHS, cGMP) and participate in continuous improvement initiatives; requires travel (<10%) and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED with 5+ years of experience operating a control board in an industrial plant setting
- Two-year technical college degree or military technical experience preferred
- Prior experience with DCS/SCADA/HMI/PLC interfaces and a strong background in Electrical or Instrumentation (E&I) troubleshooting
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control logic
