Job Summary
Senior Contracts Specialist responsible for overseeing contract management, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS and government regulations, leading negotiation and amendments, managing the contract life cycle, maintaining repository, assessing risks, and communicating with vendors and clients. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 2 years of government contracts experience; advanced DoD contracting knowledge and related certifications are a plus. The role includes monitoring milestones, renewals, and deliverables, with a focus on protecting the company's contractual posture and ensuring alignment with government specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) and 2 years Government Contracts related experience
- Experience managing full scope of contract support, including kick-off meetings to close out activities
- Knowledge of FAR/DFARS and other Government acquisition regulations
- Prepare, review, and edit contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and relevant laws
- Lead the negotiation and execution of contract amendments or extensions when necessary
- Lead and manage contract life cycle, including kick-off and close activities
- Monitor and enforce contract compliance throughout the contract's lifecycle
- Maintain contract repository with version control, renewal dates, and related documentation
- Identify and assess potential risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, clients, and stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact contracts
- Generate reports and provide contract-related data and insights to management
