Job Summary
Contracts Principal will collaborate with internal teams and external customers to shape and close government and international contract opportunities in alignment with Gentex leadership. Responsibilities include supporting contract reviews and administration, administering contracts across locations, interfacing with U.S. and international governments, ensuring flow-down of contractual obligations, preparing/negotiating contractual documents, reviewing RFQs/RFPs/Market Surveys, serving as primary contracts POC, travel to meet with customers, coordinating audits/meetings, maintaining government database records, managing relationships, supporting proposal development and negotiations, handling change management and contract close-out, driving process improvements, and enabling SAP deployment. The role requires on-site work at the Manchester, NH facility, with a 9/80 work week and comprehensive benefits, and offers opportunities to lead cross-functional initiatives and ensure compliance across a multi-national environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field is required
- Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in an aerospace/defense or equivalent regulatory contracting environment is required
- Strong hands-on knowledge of FAR/ DFAR/CAS/ and export regulations
- Ability to negotiate and close on efforts requiring Current Cost or Pricing Data and Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (formerly TINA) certification
- General knowledge of DOD policies and practices is essential
- Working knowledge/familiarity with OTAs
- Strong knowledge of intellectual property and policies
- Experience with agreements to support business development, program management and engineering development teams (ex. NDAs, bailment agreements, etc.)
- Experience dealing with the US Government, foreign governments, and major industry defense & electronics companies, as your customer
- Ability to become an independent, take-charge, self-starter able to identify gaps or issues, develop solutions, and implement changes as needed with minimal oversight
- Be able to obtain a secret security clearance
- Be capable of obtaining a secret security clearance
