Job Summary
Contracts Manager/Payroll– Prevailing Wage Contractor in Everett, WA. The role focuses on contract administration and payroll-related duties for a construction firm, including setting up vendors, processing accounts payable, billing for the construction department, time-tracking support, and maintaining payroll data and reporting obligations. Key responsibilities include drafting and processing documents, maintaining contract records, ensuring licensing/compliance, coordinating with project managers and department managers on invoicing, compiling weekly AP pay runs, and assisting in federal reporting. Payroll duties cover gathering, calculating, inputting, and retrieving payroll data, resolving inconsistencies with supervisors, answering payroll inquiries, following payroll policies, and supporting weekly, monthly, and annual payroll reporting to local, state, and federal agencies. Qualifications emphasize union payroll knowledge (prevailing wage, fringe, etc.), construction experience, numeracy and attention to detail, strong analytical and communication skills, and a degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred or equivalent experience. Required Qualifications
- At least 2+ years of proven Contracts, AP and Payroll experience
- Must be knowledgeable about union payroll including prevailing wage, union dues, zenith, fringe, etc.
- Experience in construction highly preferred
- Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred, or strong equivalent work experience is acceptable
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to define issues, gather information, confirm facts, and make sound judgments
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
