Job Summary
Contracts Manager with a construction-focus accountable for drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating owner contracts, prime agreements, subcontracts, POs, consultant agreements, NDAs, amendments, and change documents. Supports contract flow, risk review, and internal coordination across active and upcoming projects; guides commercial risk identification, insurance and indemnity language, notices, and warranty obligations; assists preconstruction, estimating, and operations during pursuit, award, buyout, and handoff; coordinates with project leadership, outside counsel, and leadership on disputes, claims, and sensitive contractual matters; manages contract logs, expiration dates, lien-release activities, and template standardization. Requires 7+ years in construction contracts or related roles, strong construction exposure, and a law degree or licensure is a major plus; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant experience in construction contracts administration, construction law, legal operations, paralegal work, claims support, or a similar contract-focused role within a GC, CM, developer, major subcontractor, or construction law practice.
- Meaningful construction experience is required.
- Strong working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, contract exhibits, change orders, claims support, notice requirements, lien-release processes, insurance and indemnity language, warranty obligations, and closeout requirements.
- Ability to read agreements critically, spot risk early, organize issues clearly, and communicate practical recommendations to leadership and project teams.
- Experience supporting contract negotiations, redlines, dispute support, claims documentation, defaults, back charges, delay-related correspondence, or similar commercial/legal construction matters.
- Strong organizational discipline, follow-through, confidentiality, and judgment.
- Comfort working directly with operations leadership and handling sensitive, high importance matters with professionalism and urgency.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, PDF/document workflows, contract logs, and construction project platforms such as Procore or similar systems.
- Bilingual English / Spanish is a strong plus.
- Law degree preferred.
- Licensed attorneys are a major plus.
- Paralegal certification or formal legal training is also valuable.
- Experience supporting multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, condominium, commercial, or high-rise / mid-rise vertical construction is strongly preferred.
- Experience on projects in the $30M-$300M range, or other similarly sophisticated construction assignments, is highly attractive.
- Florida construction market experience is strongly preferred.
