Job Summary
Greet and assist customers in person and on the telephone while accurately inputting transactions, quotes, purchase orders, and returns into the POS. Recommend specific products and solutions by determining customer requirements, cross-selling, up-selling, and offering promotional items to increase sales and average order size. Maintain displays, answer inquiries, and refer credit applications or bad checks to the Credit Department while educating clients on product features and benefits. Stay current on local codes and product developments through vendor training, trade shows, and reading trade journals. Operate computer equipment, perform math, and follow company policies while maintaining a professional image and adhering to safe lifting techniques for repetitive tasks.

- Ability to communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills
- Good interpersonal, communication, customer service skills
- Telephone etiquette
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques
- Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time
- Manual dexterity and the ability to reach overhead to grasp materials
- Ability to sit, climb or balance, lift, twist, and bend, stoop or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis
- Strength: regularly lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
- Be aware of and follow the We Believe statements and MSDT ECET objectives
