Job Summary
Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services for construction and maintenance projects within railroad rights-of-way. Conduct job briefings to ensure full compliance with Federal Railroad Administration regulations while monitoring track conditions and approaching trains to keep personnel clear of active equipment. Communicate with train dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors via radio or electronic systems to coordinate movements and grant permissions. Document all activities, including incident reports, daily work logs, and electronic forms for submission to management and regulatory agencies. Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal policies in a field environment requiring 50% to 85% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
- Communicates effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Ability for long-term travel assignments, including multi-month deployments
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company preferably in the maintenance of way or TY&E departments
- Successfully completes all required federal, client, and company-specific training
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment/recurrent background checks
- Must be able to successfully pass drug/alcohol testing
- Must be able to successfully pass classroom training
