Job Summary

Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services for construction and maintenance projects within railroad rights-of-way. Conduct job briefings and monitor track conditions to ensure personnel remain clear of active tracks and equipment. Communicate with train dispatchers and engineers via radio or electronic systems to coordinate train movements and grant permissions. Document all activities, including job briefings, incident reports, and daily work logs for submission to management and regulatory agencies. Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal policies, including FRA regulations (49 CFR 214). Requires 2+ years of railroad maintenance experience, valid driver's license, and ability to travel 50-85% of the time in all weather conditions. Successful completion of federal, client, and company-specific training is mandatory.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
  • Communicates effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Ability for long-term travel assignments, including multi-month deployments
  • Valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company preferably in the maintenance of way or TY&E departments
  • Successfully completes all required federal, client, and company-specific training
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment/recurrent background checks
  • Must be able to successfully pass drug/alcohol testing
  • Must be able to successfully pass classroom training
