Job Summary
Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services within railroad rights-of-way, conducting job briefings and ensuring full compliance with Federal Railroad Administration regulations. Monitor track conditions, approaching trains, and work activities to keep personnel clear of active tracks, while communicating with dispatchers and engineers via radio or electronic systems to coordinate movements. Document all activities, including incident reports, daily work logs, and electronic forms for submission to management and regulatory agencies. Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal policies in a field environment requiring 50% to 85% travel. Successfully complete required federal, client, and company-specific training.
Required Qualifications
- Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
- Communicates effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Ability for long-term travel assignments, including multi-month deployments
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company preferably in the maintenance of way or TY&E departments
- Successfully completes all required federal, client, and company-specific training
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment/recurrent background checks
- Must be able to successfully pass drug/alcohol testing
- Must be able to successfully pass classroom training
