Job Summary

As an Instructor with AMA Driver Education in Grande Prairie, you’ll provide quality in-vehicle driving instruction to students, following AMA’s requirements and Alberta Transportation guidelines. You’ll report to the Supervisor, Novice Instruction, deliver instruction after school, evenings, and weekends, help students develop the skills to become licensed safe drivers, and benefit from paid training to obtain your instructor license if needed. You’ll work in-office with support from a marketing team and senior instructors, have access to a large student base, and have potential to earn via an hourly rate ($35 in-vehicle time) with bonus opportunities (+$7/hour) and fuel subsidies. You must have or obtain a Class 5 licence (with at least 3 years of driving history), own your vehicle, be prepared to cover start-up costs, and complete incorporation and WCB requirements during the process. The role emphasizes entrepreneurship, personal coaching, and flexible scheduling to accommodate student needs, with ongoing professional development and support from AMA’s team.

Required Qualifications

  • Provincial Driving Instructor Licence (Class 5) from Alberta Transportation
  • Had Class 1, 2, 3, or 4 or 5 licence for a minimum of 3 years
  • Ability to obtain a Class 4 licence
  • Clean driver’s abstract
  • Own vehicle
  • Be able to cover required start-up costs after training and licensing
  • Incorporation required upon hire and WCB number upon completion of training
