Job Summary

Directly supervise a team of Mechanical Contracting field technicians, coordinating with Project Managers on staffing needs and manpower forecasts. Serve as the liaison between the field and office while conducting weekly onsite job visits and maintaining the schedule board. Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including working with temp staffing agencies when additional manpower is required. Provide regular feedback, coaching, and annual performance reviews to ensure continuous improvement, while holding all Associates accountable for actions requiring disciplinary action. Review and approve weekly time and expenses for accuracy. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and represent the team at quarterly meetings. This role requires flexibility for overtime, weekends, and overnight travel, with regular exposure to mechanical rooms, rooftops, and extreme outdoor conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in scheduling/dispatching
  • 2 years of customer service experience
  • HVAC industry experience
  • Frequent use of computers, mobile devices, and Microsoft products
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility
  • Valid driver's license
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends
  • Regular travel requirements with overnight travel
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, squat, balance, and climb
  • Ability to work in confined/constricted spaces and at elevated heights
  • Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 25 pounds constantly
  • Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move over 50 pounds with mechanical assistance or team lift
  • Sufficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to use hand tools, power tools, and electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to climb and perform tasks while positioned on ladders
  • Ability to communicate effectively and perceive verbal instructions and warnings in a high-noise industrial environment (above 85 dBA)
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Physical capacity to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends, during peak demand or emergency service periods
  • Ability to work in mechanical/equipment rooms, rooftops, and drop ceilings
  • Ability to work in extreme outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and unconditioned indoor spaces
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical parts; high, precarious locations; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration
  • Ability to wear appropriate PPE, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety-toed boots, hard hats, high-visibility vests or shirts, task-specific gloves, fall protection harness and hearing protection
  • Ability to wear hard hats when working in areas with potential overhead hazards
  • Ability to wear specialized PPE (e.g., respirators, arc-rated clothing, fall protection) as required depending on task-specific hazards
  • Ability to ensure PPE complies with OSHA standards and is inspected daily for proper condition, fits appropriately, and is free of defects
