Job Summary
Contract Subject Matter Expert needed to lead cradle-to-grave government contracts and subcontracts for a national R&D innovator in Reston, VA. Responsibilities include interface with program management and contract POCs, support capture and proposal opportunities, analyze terms and conditions, negotiate agreements, monitor performance and closeout, collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet objectives, develop business cases, analyze data, and mentor junior colleagues. Requires senior-level government contracts experience, FAR/DFARS expertise, license/IP terms understanding, strong negotiation and communication skills, readiness to travel domestically, and eligibility for US security clearance (Top Secret potential). On-site role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 15+ years of government contracts experience (prime and subcontractor)
- Experience with proposal/capture management
- Experience with various contract types
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lead and implement compliance plans
- Expertise in FAR/DFARS regulations and government acquisition frameworks
- Comfort interacting with executive leadership
- Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data Act requirements
- Experience with license agreements and intellectual property terms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn new tools and procedures
- Domestic travel and US security clearance required (potential for Top Secret)
