Job Summary
Hybrid, full-time Contract Specialist in the Washington DC area focusing on termination of federal contracts. Responsibilities include advising on terminations for convenience or default, preparing termination-related documents (termination notices, determinations and findings, settlement agreements, negotiation memoranda), interpreting FAR and agency regulations, processing actions in contract/financial systems, coordinating with General Counsel, technical offices, and partners, assessing financial and programmatic implications, developing risk mitigation strategies, ensuring post-termination actions (audits, final payments, closeouts) are compliant, and developing guidance, templates, and training materials. Must work on-site 3 days per week and have strong contract management experience with US government contracts and knowledge of FAC-C/CFCM requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business
- FAC-C Professional or CFCM
- At least 5 years’ experience in US government contract management with at least 1 year of experience terminating contracts and negotiating termination settlements.
