Contract Specialist (Federal Experience Required)

Job Summary
The Contract Specialist is responsible for managing pre-award and post-award contracting activities, including developing and administering complex contracts, conducting market research, preparing RFPs and IFBs, evaluating contractor proposals, and ensuring compliance with FAR and agency policies. Key qualifications include a bachelor's degree, relevant coursework, and strong analytical and negotiation skills. Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) is desired but not mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Completion of at least 24 semester hours in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific procurement regulations
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in contract writing systems and procurement software (e.g., PRISM, FPDS-NG)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
- Experience working in a government or federal contracting environment
