Contract Senior Business Analyst – Finance Data & Architecture

Job Summary
Gather, analyze, and document business, data, and reporting requirements, then translate them into data mappings, functional specifications, and design artifacts. Analyze end-to-end financial data flows from source systems through subledgers and General Ledger platforms, creating and maintaining source-to-target mappings, data lineage, and logical data models. Partner with Finance, Product Control, Treasury, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams to support data warehouse, reporting, governance, and modernization initiatives while performing data analysis, reconciliation, impact assessments, and root-cause investigations. This role bridges Finance, Business, and Technology teams to support enterprise data initiatives, data architecture, and financial reporting solutions within the Data Warehouse Analysis & Design team.
Required Qualifications
- MUST be local to New York
- 7+ years of Business Analysis, Data Analysis, or Financial Systems experience in Banking
- Deep knowledge of: General Ledger (GL)
- Deep knowledge of: Journal processing and accounting events
- Deep knowledge of: Subledger architectures
- Deep knowledge of: Balance Sheet and P&L reporting
- Deep knowledge of: Financial data flows and reconciliation processes
- Strong understanding of banking products and operations, with deep expertise in one or more areas: Commercial Lending
- Strong understanding of banking products and operations, with deep expertise in one or more areas: Syndicated Lending
- Strong understanding of banking products and operations, with deep expertise in one or more areas: Treasury
- Strong understanding of banking products and operations, with deep expertise in one or more areas: Repo / Securities Financing
- Strong understanding of banking products and operations, with deep expertise in one or more areas: Fixed Income
- Strong understanding of banking products and operations, with deep expertise in one or more areas: Derivatives
- Strong understanding of banking products and operations, with deep expertise in one or more areas: Deposits / Payments
- Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing complex enterprise data models
- Experience documenting requirements, data mappings, and business processes

- SAP Finance / SAP General Ledger experience
- Snowflake experience
- Databricks experience
- Data warehouse and data lake architecture experience
- Data Mesh and data governance experience
- Familiarity with metadata management, data lineage, and data quality frameworks
- Experience working in Agile environments and with JIRA
