Job Summary
Review all new prescriptions for completeness, copy insurance data, and file completed prescriptions per department standards. Supply medications to patients awaiting pick-up, answer medical questions by referring to the Pharmacist, and manage cash register transactions including over-rings and shortages. Maintain courteous interactions with patients and staff while assisting with unpacking, labeling, and stocking incoming products. Work under direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist to ensure accuracy in intake, data entry, adjudication, and selling of prescriptions. This contract role concludes on October 31, 2026, with a requirement for a current DC Pharmacy Technician license and two years of verified pharmacy experience.
Required Qualifications
- DC Pharmacy License
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Current and valid DC Pharmacy Technician license OR proof that application is in process
- A minimum of 2 years of verified experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, nursing home, medical center, or hospital pharmacy setting
- Constantly sit and reach outward in a clinical setting
- Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 20 lbs
- Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment
- Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment
