Contract Retail Pharmacy Technician - DC Pharmacy License Required

Job Summary

Conduct prescription intake, data entry, adjudication, packaging, and selling under direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. Review new prescriptions for patient data completeness, copy insurance information, and file completed prescriptions per department standards. Supply medications to patients awaiting pick-up, refer medical questions to the Pharmacist, and maintain courteous interactions with patients and medical personnel. Assist with unpacking, labeling, and stocking incoming products while ensuring accuracy of cash register transactions. Maintain compliance with all personnel and departmental policies. This contract role concludes on October 31, 2026, with a requirement for a valid DC Pharmacy Technician license and two years of verified pharmacy experience.

Required Qualifications

  • DC Pharmacy License
  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Current and valid DC Pharmacy Technician license OR proof that application is in process
  • A minimum of 2 years of verified experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, nursing home, medical center, or hospital pharmacy setting
  • Constantly sit and reach outward in a clinical setting
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 20 lbs
  • Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment
  • Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment
