Job Summary
Conduct psychiatric evaluations for individuals enrolled in the PHP and provide medication management services as needed, including weekly availability and telephone consultation for urgent situations. Offer clinical supervision and oversight to psychiatric nurse practitioners in accordance with state and federal regulations, while reviewing and co-signing documentation as required by law and organizational policy. Direct and collaborate with staff on clinical activities and interventions, and provide consultation to community referrals to ensure successful patient disposition. Complete medical records and other documentation timely to meet clinical and payer requirements, while maintaining professional relationships with clinical providers, referral partners, and vendors. Participate in marketing and outreach events on occasion.
Required Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrist
- All necessary requirements must be met to practice adult psychiatry in California
- Minimum of two (2) years of management experience in a behavioral health setting such as a hospital, outpatient clinic, or related service provider
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience treating the adult emotionally disturbed population
- A valid Driver's license
- A generally clean driving record
- State licensing DHS and DSS prohibit individuals with specific criminal charges, conducted by Livescan fingerprint checks
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with mental health PHP/IOP and/or psychiatric hospital experience
- Superior communication skills working with patients, family members, community stakeholders and staff
- Experience with co-occurring disorders and/or substance use disorders
- Eating Disorder treatment experience
