Job Summary
Senior Contract EMC Engineer role at Bombardier focusing on Electromagnetic Compatibility for aircraft. Responsibilities include executing complex EMI/HIRF/LIRF/Lightning/Electrostatics analyses, guiding EMC certification and sustaining activities, defining work scope and milestones, reviewing engineering documentation for certification compliance, and supporting EMC tests across locations in Canada. The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years in aerospace EMC qualification/certification, deep knowledge of industry standards (RTCA/DO-160, SAE ARPs) and familiarity with airworthiness regulations. The candidate will mentor junior members, contribute to technical requirements, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings, with a hybrid remote work arrangement at Toronto or Montreal sites.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Sciences or Physics
- Eight (8) years minimum EMC qualification/certification experience in aerospace
- Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160, SAE ARPs
- Familiarity with airworthiness regulations (FAA, EASA, TCCA)
- Ability to guide junior team members and interns
- Experience with EMC tests and test procedures/reports
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools is an asset
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading EMC/EMI analysis within aerospace programs
- Strong knowledge of RTCA/DO-160, SAE ARPs
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools
- Ability to review test procedures/reports and certify EMC compliance
- Experience with EMI, HIRF, LIRF, Lightning, and Electrostatics topics
- French language is an asset
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and interns
- Experience in major aircraft development programs preferred
- Knowledge of airworthiness regulations (FAA/EASA/TCCA) and related advisory materials
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
