Job Summary
Contract Pediatric Neuropsychologist role focusing on comprehensive neuropsychological and developmental evaluations for children ages 0-6 with a specialty in early childhood autism. You will conduct, interpret, and document assessments (e.g., ADOS-2, Bayley, Vineland, Mullen, WPPSI), provide diagnostic impressions, and deliver family-centered recommendations. The position supports Penfield’s interdisciplinary team, offers clinical oversight to psychometrists, and includes both in-person and virtual evaluation sessions. Responsibilities include developing best-practice workflows, guiding referral pathways, writing detailed reports and client-friendly summaries, communicating findings to families and providers, coordinating with the care team, and ensuring compliant documentation and billing practices. The engagement is independent contractor-based, with flexible modalities (in-person and virtual) and a focus on advancing Penfield’s early childhood neuropsychology program. Requirements include a psychology doctorate, Wisconsin license or eligibility, proficiency with telehealth and web-based tools, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in Psychology from an American Psychological Association accredited program
- Licensed or license eligible in the State of Wisconsin
- Experience conducting testing virtually and in person
- Familiarity with online web-based applications
- Effective therapeutic communication skills
- Ability to deliver care virtually or in person and within your own office space
- One-year predoctoral internship with specialization in neuropsychology preferred
- Two-year postdoctoral fellowship with specialization in neuropsychology preferred
- PSYPACT authorized or PSYPACT eligible preferred
- Expertise in early childhood development and neurodevelopmental disorders, with strong command of autism assessment and DSM-5 criteria for ages 0–6
- Proficiency with standardized neuropsychological and developmental assessment tools (e.g., ADOS-2, Bayley, Vineland, Mullen, WPPSI)
- Understanding of clinical documentation, compliance, and billing requirements related to neuropsychological and developmental evaluations
- Strong ability to conduct comprehensive evaluations and interpret complex developmental profiles in very young children
- Excellent communication skills for delivering diagnostic findings clearly and compassionately to families and interdisciplinary teams
- Effective organizational and time-management skills, including timely documentation and coordination with multiple providers
- Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary, family-centered care model while also working independently
- Ability to adapt engagement and assessment strategies to meet the developmental and behavioral needs of children ages 0–6
- Ability to contribute clinical expertise to support the design, launch, and refinement of Penfield’s early childhood neuropsychology program
- Background screening and safety requirements per Penfield Children’s Center
