Job Summary
Contract Manufacturing Manager, Supplements at JuneShine Brands leads day-to-day execution across our supplement co-manufacturing network, ensuring products are produced on time, on spec, and on cost. The role partners cross-functionally with R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and Commercial teams, and serves as the face of the company with co-manufacturing partners. Responsibilities include partner identification/onboarding, portfolio management with clear SLAs, site visits/audits for cGMP/compliance, production planning across a network, raw material and packaging alignment, ERP data integrity, and driving continuous improvement. You will oversee quality/compliance with FDA cGMP standards (21 CFR Part 111), manage manufacturing costs and margins (tolling, YIELD, COGS), collaborate on new product development and launches with R&D, and travel up to 35% (up to 50% for audits/onboarding). The role requires 4-6 years in dietary supplements/co-manufacturing, hands-on dosage-form experience (powders, gummies, stikpaks, nutraceuticals), strong regulatory knowledge, ERP proficiency (Ekos preferred), and a track record of partner management and cost control. Ideally based in San Diego/Southern CA; U.S. residency required.
Required Qualifications
- 4-6 years of experience in contract or co-manufacturing management within the dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, or functional health and wellness industry
- Hands-on expertise across powders, gummies, stikpaks, and nutraceuticals
- Demonstrated track record managing a portfolio of co-manufacturing partners from partner selection through ongoing performance management
- Strong working knowledge of supplement regulatory requirements, including FDA 21 CFR Part 111 (cGMP for dietary supplements), NSF, USP, and third-party certification standards
- Proven ability to manage R&D scale-up, formula transfer, and new product commercialization at contract manufacturers
- Demonstrated understanding of COGS, tolling structures, yield management, and their impact on gross margin
- Proficiency in ERP or production management systems (Ekos preferred)
- Experience managing multiple co-manufacturing partners and shifting production priorities simultaneously
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 35%, with occasional needs up to 50% for audits, partner onboarding, and new product launches
