Job Summary
Contract Engineering role overseeing engineering management, FAA compliance, PMA/DER/STC development, and supplier/vendor management to sustain cost-effective airframe and component repairs; responsibilities include creating WASI Engineering Orders, documenting FAA data, liaising with FAA FSDO/MIDO/ACO, conducting FMEA, developing new test fixtures/equipment, managing parts and AD/SB identification, and contributing to the Aging Aircraft Program with cost analyses and reliability improvements.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- 5-10 years of experience of airframe, engine and/or component repair/overhaul processing
- Knowledge of aircraft materials, coatings and electroplating
- Knowledge of standard machining equipment and processes
- Knowledge of FAA regulations pertaining to the certification and repair of components
- Knowledge of the development and approval process for FAA PMA Parts and DER Repair Substantiation Packages
