Job Summary
Contract Director is the executive lead for the State of Tennessee Facilities Services Management Contract. Serves as the primary liaison between our client and the State of Tennessee, owning contract performance, operational delivery, stakeholder alignment, and overall program success. Strategic leader and hands-on operator capable of managing complex, multi-site operations while maintaining strong partnerships with public-sector stakeholders. Responsibilities include leading contract execution, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, overseeing transition from award to full operational readiness, aligning service delivery with the State’s objectives, developing and maintaining account management frameworks and performance metrics, identifying operational risks, directing governance meetings and reporting, managing staffing models for resource allocation, and delivering high-quality facility services across sites. Requires building a positive culture, coaching and developing teams, driving performance, and traveling between sites as needed. Preferred education and experience emphasize facilities management or engineering disciplined backgrounds, public-sector contract oversight, PMP/CMMS familiarity, and strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical), Construction Management, or a related field preferred
- 5–8+ years of progressive leadership experience in public-sector facilities management, construction/project management, or maintenance operations
- Experience managing government, transportation, or infrastructure-related assets preferred
- Proven success leading operations in a 24/7 multi-site environment
- Experience managing mobile maintenance teams and operational facilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage contracts, vendors, budgets, and procurement processes
- Proven track record delivering capital or operational projects on time and within budget
- Experience working within collaborative or matrixed leadership environments is a plus
- Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and structural systems
- PMP certification preferred
- Proficiency with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with GIS, ERP, or asset management systems is advantageous
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- High degree of professionalism, adaptability, and initiative
- Ability to work flexible hours, respond to emergencies, and travel between operational sites as needed
