Job Summary
Coordinate and manage contract crews for overhead, underground, and storm restoration projects while scheduling work to meet safety, quality, and productivity objectives. Attend pre-construction meetings to align execution with engineering, operations, and customers, then monitor contractor performance against budgets, schedules, and compliance standards. Review contract documents, manage amendments and closeouts, and maintain project records while collaborating with Legal, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations. Resolve contractor issues, mitigate risks, and support emergency storm restoration activities. Mentor junior coordinators and promote continuous improvement. This role supports Georgia Power's electric distribution construction and maintenance efforts in Valdosta, GA.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of electric distribution engineering and/or construction experience
- Extensive knowledge of overhead and underground electric distribution systems
- Experience managing contract crews and construction contractors
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, project planning, and quality control
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Distribution Viewer, ARMS, CSS, TCMS, and JETS
- Utility industry experience supporting electric distribution operations
- Experience managing multiple projects across a large service territory
- Knowledge of utility contract administration, procurement, and construction standards
