Job Summary
Execute contract administration duties across all construction and rehabilitation phases, ensuring adherence to specifications and client expectations. Act as the owner's representative during site visits, reviewing contractor submissions like shop drawings and traffic control plans while coordinating with material testing firms. Prepare monthly progress payment certificates, issue change orders, and respond to RFIs to position the owner as a proactive leader. Manage fast-moving project changes, conduct quality audits of subcontractors, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental practices for regulatory compliance. Train junior staff in inspections and contract administration. This role supports the growth of GFT's new Construction Management team in the national capital region, focusing on transforming communities through meticulous engineering and program management.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Contract Administration and Inspections on Industrial buildings
- Proficient in the use of Builterra platform (Dailies, Progress Payment, Tendering)
- Good understanding of Occupation H&S Act, the Construction Act, OPSS MUNI 100 General Conditions and Ontario Regulation 406/1excess soil management
- English and French communication, documentation, and coordination skills
- Must be able to manage change on a fast-moving project and where necessary and achieve resolution in a timely manner
- Be a team player and comfortable with partnering principles and best practice
- Recognized as eligible or active under MTO RAQS
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
