Job Summary
Operate, monitor, and assist in drying and finishing processes involving automated cutting, visual inspection, and manual stacking of dried ceramic products. Perform established start-up and change-over procedures, verify machine set-ups, and adjust settings to facilitate quality production. Inspect greenbody wooden pallets, apply visual criteria to parts, calculate yield and defect rates, and segregate shiro-modori. Enter accurate process information into company systems, complete activity logs, and participate in preventive maintenance and 5S activities. Works safely in a high-noise, humid environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts while adhering to all environmental and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to successfully complete all required job training
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 6 month manufacturing/warehousing experience or equivalent
- CRC Bronze or above
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions
- Ability to communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- 20/20 vision (natural or corrected vision)
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to regularly stand

Desired Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) software
- Certified Production Technician program completion
